    Yes I sealed all the header bolts. I knew bolts went into the valve cover area and coolant passages. I really appreciate your input. To be honest I am scared to death to start this thing but nothing ventured nothing gained...I just hope I get through the break in. Thanks, Dave

    Looking good !!! Did you remember to put sealer on the header bolts? My buddy forgot that when we fired up his 354 for the first time - trying to get the cam broke in. He had a big problem when he ran the coolant hoses from the heads to the cast thermostat housing, because they were way too small. It kept popping the soft plugs out of the block, because the pump really wants to push the water somewhere, and the flow was too small. I think we ended up with 3/4 inch heater hose going to the housing, with all
    bigger fittiongs as well. His blown 354 engine was an industrial engine off a snowblower, and everything had to be modified to fit- Made spacers to fit the blower manifold to heads!!! Good luck !!! Bill Cutting
