I want a t-10 but they are a lot of money plus I can get my friends rebuilt muncie m21 for $500 and I'm told it bolts right up and I can use the same spedo cable.

. If the Muncie and Saginaw have the same gear ratios, you won't be able to tell any difference driving them... GM just used Saginaws on engines under 327" and Muncies on larger engines...

. Close ratio trannies are used with big rear end gears, because a big 1st gear is overkill and becomes a 'granny' gear then... also, close ratios have less RPMs drop between gears, so better for racing....

The Muncie transmissions had the speedometer cable on either side. I've got 3 with the cable on the left and 2 with the cable on the right. I've got a ST10 from a Z28 with the cable on the right.

$500 for a good Muncie seems like a pretty good price. If you were close I'd fix you up with a complete ST10, shifter and drive shaft.

That's a long way up there. I priced everything with the bell housing, clutch, shifter, drive shaft to a local guy for $750. He wants me to put it in a Monte Carlo, but I don't want to do it. This came out of a Z28.

I'm not selling it to him if I can keep from it. I don't want to deal with changing the Monte over to a manual transmission. If I can sell it before he comes up with the money then I don't have to do it.
