My bad with my ignition switch

I have a 58 Chevy Apache stepside that I had to take the ignition switch out of in order to get a key made for it because the key was lost years ago but In my rush I forgot to mark the wires and where they go should I just trace the wires or do any of you know how it connects? Thank you for your help.

What is there, like 4 to 6 connections on it? Most older ones have accessory, start (solenoid), battery and ignition.

Possible wire colors:
Acc = Brown
Start = Purple
Battery = Red
Ignition = Pink

Some newer switches may have 2 battery terminals (1 always hot) and 2 ignition terminals.

unless your truck was a v8 version and the vin starts with a V, it had a floor starter
pretty basic connections with no start and no accessory function, more or less on/off, only 3 terminals: batt, ign1, ign2
the v8 version added the turn to start and solenoid teminal
using a stock replacement harness and no accessories? then reuse the ignition switch
if you are using an aftermarket harness you'd be better off with an aftermarket ignition switch, as the stock switch won't handle much load

no fuse box in a stock truck either. not until you got the deluxe upgrades: heater, radio and electric wipers
i believe the wiper upgrade got the 4 fuse panel, if you only had the radio and heater it had inline fuses

all light overload protection was in the headlight switch with one small fuse on top for dash lights
head, tail, stop protection was bimetal strips on the headlight switch
