"New" bandsaw.....

Just scored this Powermatic 143 today. I had been reading about them recently so did a quick check around and sure enough a guy was selling one about 90 miles away. Single phase, 1/2 hp motor, has the hi-lo range gearbox. Mechanically real good, bearings tight, all parts there.....has a new tire on top wheel but looks like the original one on bottom wheel. Belt from motor to gearbox could stand changing. Motor looks newer, guessing the unit is late 60's ? If anhone can cypher the serial no. or has info i would appreciate it......

Band saw

Powermatic is a great, quality product. I purchased several for our shop before I retired. I just purchased a band saw as well, from Harbor Freight. My buddy has an 1985 Enco and mine is almost identical except the one I purchased has four speeds. Original price was well over $400. Sale price was $359. and with a 25% off coupon I purchased it for $266. The only thing I did not like was the plastic insert on the table around the blade so I made one out of aluminum. It came with a 4 tpi blade which I changed to 14tpi. I cut 16 ga. sheet metal like butter.
