General respray and Ghost stripes

Hi, I have just bought a 66 Mustang and want to respray it myself in original colour of Wimbeldon white. I am also thinking of doing the GT350 Racing stripes in blue but ghosting them. I dont have much experience in car respraying , i have only painted one car about 10 years ago, so lets assume I have no experience. I can however apply myself fairly well to tasks and I am a qualified mechanic, not that this helps with painting.
So the questions are: What is going to be the best type of paint to use to get a deep gloss in the white (acrylic, enamel etc, etc..and..will it be possible to Ghost the blue stripes??

keep in mind this will probably be done at home in the garage...I may be able to get use of a booth, but no guaranteed.
