you first install the carb on your engine and run engine to 50km then check your spark plug : if light your jetting is small if dark your jetting is high and if light with brown your jetting is correct .
before mounting carb in your engine do not change any things .
Certainly for tuning and testing the carb use vacuum geage not your ears !!!

|eric32||I have that exact 80457 sa holley sitting on my 350 as we speak. That is the aluminum version and its the same as the old 1850s and 80457s model numbers but they are zinc but all else being the same are the same carb just different material and a manual choke or a electric choke as well. There nice carbs for mild builds.|

Either carb would be fine for your situation. It really comes down to a matter of personal preference. I like Holley's but many people prefer and have good results with Edelbrock.
You may want to take a look at which one would be easier to install based on your current fuel line and throttle cable arrangements to help you decide.

The part number is 0-80457SA Holley 4160.
Engine is a stock head 1976 Chevy 350 with mild cam with dual exhaust.
Sir,i guess my Quadrajet has 68 primaries,i think the 65 jets is good for Chevy 350!

|eric32||If its a holley 1850 or 80457 and is the 600cfm vacuum secondary then it comes stock with a 65 primary jet and that is the carb I have used for many years on my mild 350 small block chevy builds and has never let me down even compared to more expensive knock off holley carbs. As far as what jets are good for mileage a lot depends on your engine combo along with what type of transmission and rear gearing etc. On my holley I run 66 primary jets for what gives me good mileage but that is one step richer then stock. Usually if the carb is tuned right for your engine combo usually you might go no more then 4 sizes bigger or smaller then what holley has it at stock settings. Basically you have to see what your engine wants.|

Holley 4160 primary jets
Bought a new 4160 Holley vacuum secondary for my stock Chevy 350...!
I want to bolt it on the Weiand squarebore intake but i'm not sure if the jets which company put in the carb is suitable for stock 350?!
Would you tell me the size of the jets on 4160 Holley and which size give me good mileage and performance?!
