I did some 6v LEDs where I did two in series to share the voltage, but it didn't work very well. Little variances in the resistance of each one meant they drew different currents.
Stick with 12v LEDs and put them in parallel.

LED's are wired in parallel. You can hook almost an infinite number of them together as they draw very little current. Most all LED's for automotive use are rated for 12vdc. If you choose LED's of lower voltage rating you must drop the supply voltage down to their requirements. There are also hi intensity LEDs that are perfect for automotive use. As far as I am aware of they are available in clear, red, green, blue, and yellow. Here sre some sites that carry LEDs.

Custom LED tail ligths, how to bundle led's?
I want to build some custom tailigths for my 46 chevy, my idea is to arrange them in a mold and pour clear resin to bundle up the whole thing.
I need help to learn how to connect the led's, do they work in series or paralel or mixed or what?
is there any limits of how many can be connected together?
do I have to add a ballast resistor to drop the voltage to what, 3 volts? or what is the voltage needed for this things?
do they make yellow led's? I have found red and white already but not yellow.
is there any website about this matter, please help me.
