|454k1500||So would I just be better off building my 5.0? I want to try and stay with as little wiring as I can. Would a t56/ls1 be a ridiculously expensive thing to do? I'm going to use the truck for mudding, tow vehicle, and daily driver.|

|matt167||Yes, but you need a conversion flywheel as the trans was not designed for the LS engines which is just a bit different on the back end. The bellhousings match... That said, the NV-3500 is fragile and won't hold up to an LS1. GM put them behind 4.8L trucks but no 5.3l's, and they are not an easy or cheap rebuild. I have one in my '95 K1500 and altho it was a tow vehicle before I got to it, it has only 155k miles but frequently jambs out of 3rd requiring a dbl clutch and makes the standard 'rollover' noise in neutral|

NV3500 to 5.7 LS1?
Hey guys, this weekend i pulled apart a parts truck I had sitting around(Bought it because the add said 5 speed 350, turned out to be a 305.......) So, I have the 5.7 LS1 from my 2000 Camaro Z28 sitting next door, I'm going to go carbeurated, and I was wondering if the NV3500 would fit with the Newer engine, if not bolt up(because i doubt it will) what other mix and match parts will I need to make this set up work(or will it just plain and simply not work?)
Thanks ahead of time!
