I would like the information if still available.

StuV Hi Dan Tim

If you supply me your email address I will be happy to send you the installation instructions. You should be able to determine if it will work for your machine from that.

sun distributor machine

How about a little more info? What's involved in the changeover? Will it work on my 506? And, of course,
what kind of expense is involved?

LED upgrade

I have converted a model 504 with faulty flashtube to LED. If anyone is interested I can supply a kit to do this. It eliminates/replaces all the old high voltage electronics. Many different models use the same circuit as the 504. PM me if interested.

The Red & Green wires went to the post on the side, they were joined; the stater (purple & orange) and ground (black) go to that plug extending on the pigtail. If i read the scematic right the Red is +12v and the green is trigger for the coil, thye should not be joined. It looks to me i should join the Red & White and give them +12v; the green would go to strobelight & ground side of the coil. The Purple & orange to the magnetic + & - pickup and the Black is ground @ the distr - is this right?
Can i both trigger on the Green the stobe light and fire the coil at the same time or will i get 12v thru the coil and damage the internal workings of the Sun, maybe do one or the other but not both?
The Red and Green wires joined and connected at the post is what is giving me pause.

Here's a diagram I found, and as you see, it is the pickup, pole piece, reluctor. (they have 3 different names), but mean the same thing.
You may still need a voltage supply

Is this it? I pulled the cover off one side of the machine to expose this add-on module, it looks like it is from a Ford.
The stud on the left is isolated and something clips to it - i think the alligator clip from the internal strobe light of the machine clips to it.
What hooks into the plug/connector - the box has no seperate power supply, one of those wires must be +12v supply for the box and the other 2?
Thanks, oj

xxxxxxxxojh I probed the connector and couldn't read any voltage. The pigtail has been added so I guess i need to go inside the machine to see where and what it is doing. I didn't see it when i redid the mechanicals and table etc, I didn't have that side of the machine apart.
It looks like a ford plug to me, anybody recognize it?
