cozwurth I did spend a little time out in the garage this afternoon. Figured I'd spend a little time on the smallest, easiest project that I have going right now. My canoe. The wooden rails were rotted away, and the paint was very chalky. I had already removed the rails, or what was left of them, anyway, so I flipped it over and started sanding the paint off of the bottom. Got most of one side sanded down. A little more sanding on the side of the keel and I'll have half of it done.

Nope, not gonna pay to have it hauled off. I'll put it in the yard and plant flowers in it first. Anyway, nibbler is still nibbling... Traded a few texts today, turns out he's about 1.5 hours from me. He knows about the Z-28 that I bought from another guy up in his area, and he knows of the guy who bought the Cosworth Vega that I sold to a guy up there. Small world.

My uncle told me that he had it running, but it smoked like a freight train. It has anti-foulers on 5 of 8 plugs, so I have no delusions of running it without some major mechanical work there. Engine oil is full, but the trans dipstick came up dry. But I really need to thin the herd... I got a nibble on the ad, maybe the hook can be set and save me from myself...

idrivejunk My GTP repair efforts stopped cold, haha. I had assumed I had access to a working A/C machine. I do not. Thats that! Compressor loosely fastened to frame is as good as it gets.

Pics missing from post before last on the thread? None here? Did this happen?

Hope you're winning.

Dave57210 Finally everyone left! Was hosting a reunion (sort of) of my old University Frat group. (No not ALL of 'em but 8 guys plus their wives, girlfriends and significant others had descended on us for a week)

As of noon today, wife and I have the place to ourselves again for the first time since last Saturday!

idrivejunk Man, oh man.

Looked at the pic I just posted and noticed the loose dog bone nut.

Somehow that seems appropriate, don't it? The loose nut part.

Yes, I just tightened it.

That was a long day. Forecast only calls for more.

I am so glad you said "right on" instead of your usual expression of jubilance because the Gilligan of the mechanical world needs to borrow it. Ahem...

W O O H O O O ! ! !

Just drove, er... beg pardon... micro rip snorted the blown Pontiac. What a long strange trip this has been. 2 weeks in the GT and hell, it kinda feels zippy. The pic shows belts spinning with compressor sitting crooked, fastened aside with a Rube Goldberg kit or three I had laying around. It held when I went wwrrrRRRRRP in it and showered the brakes good. One time. May be able to evac the A/C next couple days. Still a long way from road trip worthy.

So here I am feeling like a kid again, nuking "supper" at 11:30 having done no nightly chores yet and black to the armpits. Ah. I miss V belts, recirculating balls, and right wheel drive even if thats all it is.
