I don't think your tach will read right. I have an old Medallion tach from the 70's, it has a switch to convert it to a 6 or 8 cylinder. There might be a way to adapt yours, but I'm no electrician.
Why run a stock gauge cluster anyway? Costs? I'm thinking aftermarket gauges would be easier to hook up and get right. Never seen a stock late model cluster that would like right in an older car like your 36.

Have been thinking about using an s10 instrument panel in my 36 chevy. My question is: will the tach from a v6 (4.3) work and be accurate when used with a tech 4 (2.5) ?? The engine,tranny, and computer are out of an 88 s10. The Dash panel is from 97 s10. OBD1 and OBD2
