Apology accepted... my cars will get over it... LOL! ... I had a '65 GTO and a '77 GP, still have the Fiero, Astre Formula Wagon, and GTA... have a 500 HP SBC 400 w/ MoTown Lite 220cc aluminum heads for the Astre...

My Fiero was the '84 4-speed version of the 2M4. Great for commuting, and handled well when I had decent tires on it. I don't remember the MPG's, but it was decent. I had to rebuild the engine in that thing. That was the first time I lifted the car off of the engine/trans. Good thing I was using the lift in the hobby shop on base, or that would have sucked big-time. I think I drove it in, had everything disconnected, disassembled, engine on a stand, and the car pushed back outside in less than 4 hours. I was younger and more enthusiastic back then... I watched a couple of guys struggling to pull the engine out through the top of another Fiero. After about 3 hours of struggling and cussing they had it disconnected and about 2/3 of the way out the top. I think I was assembling the engine for mine at the time, so I went over to see how they were progressing. I let them know that it was much easier to use the lift to raise the body off the cradle, and they said that they didn't have time for all that. I told them how long it took me, working by myself, to get mine done and then went back to my stuff. No idea how the put the engine back in. BTW, I had "FYR HZRD" on my plates. Not sure why, but people kept asking if I was a fireman...

Looks like you have a solid plan to overcome the General's lack of power for your Astre. I'll bet that it will be just a bit more fun to drive. Do you have any pics of that project?

I never heard of it before today, either. I'm on a PC. I had mentioned on youtube that I paid $14.95/year for AdFender so didn't see ads, somebody mentioned should switch to free Brave Browser that is Chrome based, so I did, but still have months remaining on AdFender so can't say how well it works... if I'll be as satisfied... we'll see... I had two columns of favorites, but think only one column may have switched over... have to check... may still have other or both columns on Chrome if needed...

Only V8 Astre I seen was a wagon I beat in a burnout contest.Thats not saying much though, even in water he could barely make them spin. Think ProStreet with iron heads.

Too Many Projects See how you are ?? You had me wondering how the heck you pulled a 13.0 out of curse, but it can happen. Just didn't think you had it tuned to that level yet.
Stinks that it had to act up and not get to run it...

Buddy with the 502 probably had a big cam, no stall, and high gears. Didn't hear any burning out. His water box stomp didn't show much more than a puff.

I may have forgot something in my tiredness last night. Started CURSE up to leave and it was stalling out. 10:1 air/fuel showing on the wide band. So, we hopped into TURBO and took off for the track.

Man, that launch control is a thing of beauty. Rev to 5 G's, foot off the brake and bam, go time. Flubbed the first two runs learning how to use it. Had to stab the gas super quick to the floor, foot on the brake, exactly on the first tree light, it revved up in time for the green.

73-7 GM intermediate two doors ( ones that came with a rear sway bar) were fun indeed.

idrivejunk I guess what I said is because I keep passing by the DMV and seeing the six feet apart line wrapped around the building in whatever weather is present.

Somebody tried to give me a 69 Firebird once. No sir. Rustbucket and I don't own a shop.

You guys realize I've had as many (RWD) Chevys as Pontiacs?

You're all up in my Kool Aid and don't even know what flavor it is!

idrivejunk Alls I said was you couldn't give me any of those, even with a clear title. Nothing about are they good or bad! Certainly nothing was said about those who are partial to or own or have owned those models. I have four Grand Prixs. Barely within my rights according to city ordinance. Sensitive crowd today. Somebody who wants a Fiero needs the one I mentioned. When they were late models, my chick and my friend / neighbor's chick both had Fieros. We both had 70s GPs. I refused to ride in, or drive, a Fiero. Too many any kind of trucks out there, they'll all kill you in a car like that and never know you were there. I first got crashed into at age 17. Killed the Chevy I'd never have let go. So I was already like I am now, about that.

Those models not listed, I might kick out a GP for.

The Fiero chicks did put out something fierce, given the opportunity.

Only V8 Astre I seen was a wagon I beat in a burnout contest.Thats not saying much though, even in water he could barely make them spin. Think ProStreet with iron heads. I did ride in a trashed green Vega a few times. And spent wheel and seat time in Sunbirds. Mostly I remember how I thought my 72 SS's front clip was floppy over railroad tracks but then the GF wanted me to drive the Sunbird and man loosey goosey!

I should be out riding around now. Coming, Grape....
