Molon Labe I've always used cereal boxes for patterns too. They're just the right thickness and stiffness.

1971BB427 Got my '39 stripped to bare metal, and shot with epoxy sealer!

idrivejunk Oh. Forgot to blurt my commentary that I thot up whilst cowling it-

Concerning situations such as Pugsy's cowl sides / hinge areas:

If side A's pattern produces pieces not in need of a great deal of trimming, I flip and re-use for side B to lend as much inherent symmetry as possible. Plus assure the parts get located in the mirrored spot on the body. But...

idrivejunk Horseshoes, hand grenades, hot rods... whuts the diff?

Check engine light came on in the GT this morning so I am hoping its the old check engine light control circuit malfunction code. That one always makes me laugh but every so often, she throws it.

About to go use my plug-in HF tool and find out.

I'm just glad that no varmint homes were built in it while my Paw had it. Between warmup this morning and an inexplicably tedious commute, it was running like an hour and a half. Figured I had better leave the GTP inside or else I wouldn't work on it. Well, here it is Wednesday.

I just work there part time. I've been after the owner to get this done for many months, as I need to get my sons' 06 Malibu on that frame rack and pull it back straight.
The '47 ford in the background has been there for 10 YEARS. I spent a couple winters getting it to the point it's at and then the owner brings in other projects for me to work on.
In the second pic, there is the front end of the owners '56 Nomad that he has owned since 1969. It's been in pieces since 1971... He bought a straight axle stub for it a couple weeks ago and a rotisserie to hang the body on. He wants to get the back room cleared out to start restoration of the Nomad into a 60's era gasser. We'll see if that actually happens...
