Howzat bronze applied, just melt the stick onto the steel with torch?

Regardless, still liking where its headed.

I am shamefully concocting an elbow holding contraption from scrap. But am in the garage touching and thinking on a car, woohoo.

Glad to see you concoctalizing. This is always good on a Sunday afternoon.

Bronze, wag and dab back an forth for more coverage. Just try not to melt the steel. It was too black, so too hot. Too lazy to walk to the welder to turn it down. Bondo will finish the inside fillets.

And like you, with some lumpy welding, we better be handy with a grinder, ha....

idrivejunk In pursuit of GTP heater hose elbow options, I asked for any fresh info over at the 3800 V6 place. Came up with these pics. Thats the intake and one hole in the alternator bracket in the top pic and the timing cover is in the bottom pic. It was TIG'ed to add the extra material to support threading.

I still think that if the O-ring taper is drilled away to a depth of half an inch, that a sheetmetal barbed nipple could be driven in like on an iron Pontiac V8 head. Like an old wheel bearing dust cap, a press fit.

Trouble is, I don't have access or a bit for that. Still contemplating other solutions that are feasible. Nobody has commented concerning making something to hold the stock elbows still.

Links to pics since they don't show up with the img code.

DAMN, the park brake inside the disc is the strangest POS, PITA to take out and put back. I still beat book time by an hour, but if the brake was easier to do, I could have saved at least 1/2 hour more.

Came home and brought all the batteries from the cars into the basement. Forecast is for overnight low's around minus 10 degrees by Tuesday. Not happy that they need to be in the house, but I'm not leaving them out in the un-heated shop to drain down and go dead from the cold. Buying 6 new batteries next spring isn't in the budget...
Battery vapors sink, right? Long as you can air it out once in awhile, that beats the cold temps. Don't you love how everything is batteries now? Car batteries are enough, besides flashlights everything else should plug in.

The Benz deal sounds like it sucked royally. Wah for the alignment man. Thats why theres the word correct! Right?

I am catching up on indoor crap and having thoughts of pumping the coolant out of the GTP as a start. Meanwhile me and the GT have some errand duties.

Of course I will work in some more bWOOps a bit later.

THEN, I got to do some car stuff. Since next week is forecast to be in the deep freeze, I loaded up Maliblue, my sons name for the car, on the rollback and strapped it down in the 28 degree weather. If I get the chance to drop it off at Centerline next week, it will be ready to roll.

Dis-enroll. Boy what will they think of next. My hour on the phone getting it fixed up was amazingly easy and peaceful. Spooky.

Good name for the car and woohoo for shed. Man you needed that space. Good to see your stuff in there.

I hope the blu just jumps back straight like an adjuster would assume.

idrivejunk Today at the good gas getting place, I pulled up behind a shiny, black, stock with mellow duals... 72 Monte. Had to chuckle at myself for wanting to throw out a compliment because hey that shoe never goes on that foot! The man was already getting in to leave so I didn't because I know how it is. What a fine ride though, man o man. I was getting a good enjoy off the exhaust note as he drove away but then the gas pump TV thing started and drowned it out before I could hit the mute button.

Did not work on crap today, not feeling like myself somehow. Finally had the opportunity to call and get my next years' health insurance squared away but got a busy signal. I had not heard a busy signal since I don't know when. Long time!

Was wanting to lay that burden to rest before the Friday afternoon rip-snort. But I took The Loud One out anyway. She really honks the four barrel now, the carb cleaner glug I gave it seems to be improving something. bWOOOOp I'll have to find a spot and do some first gear back barrel dumps later, for big enjoys.

Which may be possible because no busy signal after ride. Tried again and got insurance handled. Fifty a month less than I've been paying second half of this year. Now I can forget that and work on whittling down the Christmas mental burden.

Hey, looky there, I am posting at Pontiac time. (4:55)
