Here are some pics of the Jeep the frame is coming from. The salvage yard sent them to me since I was so far away.
I'm thinking it was a slow speed roll on the front left? Just have to wait and see how the frame made it through.

Talked to a couple of collision repair shops, both were very helpful in answering some question. The biggest thing I learned was that a very important measurement to consider, along with the outside to outside corners is the squareness of the inner 1/3 of the frame, meaning the area from just in front of the front seats to just in front of the rear spring, or control arm mounting locations.
I was told that if the inner measurements are off then the frame cannot be straightened.
I will be getting this, but now have a better idea what to look for.

master location points
The Factory had master location points they used to check quality in the manufacturing plants.. Ford trucks have information on line for motorhome builders and specialty truck builders, I don't know if Jeep has that information available. . A 20 year old frame probably does not have much factory paint on it. . On some newer vehicles you look for paint cracks.
Years ago a friend had 4 drag race records on the "Jewel T". He painted the frame and chassis pieces in Black Lacquer, The lacquer is very brittle and any distortions would crack the paint long before failure mode.

Measure corner to corner and take a level like a 4 foot carpenters level to check for "potato chipping" as in a twist. Other than that any bends that don't look right or cracking.

How to check for damage in a frame
I just got my new project, a 1998 Wrangler 4.0L, 5 speed. It was hit in the front at some point and the frame is bent, not to mention pretty much rusted out all over. It does have a clean title, so I'm going to rebuild it completely.
I've found a frame in a salvage yard that's about 3 1/2 hours away, one way. These frames are hard to come by.
My question is how do I check to see that frame is good and not bent. From the pictures I've seen, the other Jeep was also hit in the front and rolled one time.
About the only thing I can think of is to measure from corner to corner. Is there anything else?
