idrivejunk FYI, this process of developing both sides is not unlike driving two cars home. Can't drive one very far before you need to park and walk awhile.

That was another long awaited shag trim. Fortunately, the length needed is short enough to not concern myself with the slight curve that exists.

Positioning will again be critical on the outer pieces. Been making matching right side pieces as I go. The thicker little stock triangle gussets will be reused. Now I am set to tie in the floor cross brace and it is part of that.

idrivejunk Anybody who ain't done it ain't done much fab.

Ditched the stick of left pillar tubing-

The short piece stays but becomes just a 14 ga 90 strip with angled part at top which will butt to the stepped side on the pillar. It will serve as the foot of the pillar.

More pieces to make. These are front faces for the bottom of the pillar. They will plug weld over that last piece-

Not much to show. Door gap adjusted out fine. Trying to dream up a vision of how everything ties together at bottom of pillars now.

idrivejunk Hack'd-

Sometimes I amaze myself. This time it was with one of the original, confidential but common, metal shaping stunts. See if you can spot it.

I'm sparing redundance by saying- Straight-on profile view, gap looks OK. Door sticks out at bottom rear but look... top front is way in-

Hinge adjustment. Also, hinge pockets are only tacked to door on this side. Behind the pillar, the brace is super wadded up on this side. Again, everything may boil down to a broken tack found or that one mystic screw which sets it all right. Ha!

Striker not shown but it is in there now.

During cooldowns I started on the right B pillar middle section.

That was the left pattern and I know it ended up long on the inside so I mainly used this for matching patch start size and curve.

Below, I had already tipped 2 or 3 passes and what you see is tipping the close-to-edge portion so it follows.

Using a... umm... 45 angled step die set with one turned around. Thats my all around multipurpose favorite set but I forget what it is called.

O'course that leaves it a little banana-esque so to the jaws for correction-

Got it to lay flat-

Now, to hack out a spot for it.

Just messin with ya. Both. Verbal horseplay allowed though. Sometimes us old folks fail to run things through the innuendo filter. Or... we throw pitches such as with mention of the large wooden structure with a hole at the end attached to his home, but nobody takes a swing.

Pictures in a jif.

When he was saying elsewhere that fishing would be taking up some rod time, I got confused. Thought he meant rod and reel time.

No, Mitch was right. No reel or car talk were being spoken......

idrivejunk I can post this one, its horizontal. Mitch, the exhaust hole would have the rolled edge around the opening, and the tip would be nice with a matching rolled end and a visually balanced gap around it. In my mind.

idrivejunk Blog site too slow to update. I have a feeling that arrangement will cease to function soon.

Passenger's bear claw stuff today, you'll see.
