cerial Even bolt in things require fabrication to some degree unless absolutely nothing else has been done ever and it is your first mod.
You mock up your engine where it fits for your application. Maybe your using the factory mounts, maybe you have a front engine plate, rear plate, the engine is offset, the engine is tilted, tailshaft is longer, boxed your frame, and so on.
Lots of variables change things.

Why not? How has anything ever been done the first time by anyone if they never "waded in" and took charge to get it done? There seems to be too much of this "I don't want to make a mistake". Yes, sometimes mistakes cost you time, money or both but you hopefully learn from it, fix it and move on. But never taking a chance at it, you might as well just sell the project and ride the bus the rest of your life.

If you had never seen it done and had never done it yourself, I doubt that you would just wade in and take charge. That's why we have old farts who have been there instructing young farts who have no idea.

techinspector1 I contacted Ecklers via email just a few minutes ago and talked with one of their representatives. He said that if you will email them at [email protected] ,they will email instructions to you. Please include all information such as the part numbers of the products you purchased, the dates ordered, how paid, and the specifics of the truck you are swapping into.

I could give you instructions, but what you are doing is effectively building a truck from scratch, so the instructions would be lengthy. In the meantime, you might visit youtube and type in "installing tubular engine and transmission crossmembers". There's a ton of videos. Some of them may teach you something while others will have no relevance to what you're doing, but hey, it's free.

I have never found a garage floor or driveway that was flat and level, so you will need to have the truck jacked up some and leveled side to side and front to rear. You may already have done this, but we never know here on the forum, so I thought i would mention it.

Ecklers tubular mounts

Need help. I have a 55 Chevy 3100 pu. Putting in a 327 and turbo 350. Bought ecklers tubular engine and transmission crossmembers. There were no instructions at all. Anyone install these and have advice? Do I have to cut out the factory transmission mount to get the turbo 350 in? No mounting location instructions for either mount so I guess dry fit everything and bolt and weld in after?
