Would come out very nicely done and be twice the strength of the factory arm and look swift too.
You can narrow that Speedway bushing by cutting the inner side of each bushing half, then shorten the center tube. Freeze the bushing overnight and it will cut much better with a saw, or turn it in a lathe.

Poly bushings are readily available.
Trying to make precision sized holes would be a total PITA.

Find someone with an old Hollander's Manual for that year range, that should tell you if there is a more readily available arm. Thinking about it, I'm kinda surprised no one on the forum has access to a Hollander's. New ones are pricey, but the older versions are useless for anybody but rodders...

GM has a way of using a part on several different vehicles and across many years use the same part...rear lower control arm on GM A-body for example is the same from 64-77 IIRC....you might want to find out Center-to-center dimension on a set of those before you go making them....they could be the same as your Riviera.
could also be the same as B-body(full size chassis). Riviera rear arm lower bushings are cataloged as the same as LeSabre and Electra. So are the upper bushings.
Aftermarket may just not list them as also fitting the Riv, just from lack of demand.

I have crafted control arms and pressed bushings into them before. I used my Machinist Handbook to determine the dimensions, but that book was stolen from a storage facility in California several years ago, along with several other tools and items given to me by my father many years ago. Again, my best suggestion is to talk with the UMI engineers.

What size to make custom trailing arm bushing holes...
I have a 1972 Buick Riviera. Aftermarket does not exist for this car. My trailing arms are rusted to death.
I am going to weld up some new trailing arms, but I am unsure of what diameter to make the holes that the bushings press into... I can measure the new bushings, but they always fit so snug... is that an exact fit or is the hole 0.002" smaller for example? I could measure my old trailing arms but by the time I coerce the old bushings out of them any subtle differences (e.g. 0.002") would be indiscernible.
I'm also very open to any hotrodding wisdom I'm not aware of like "A-Body trailing arms will fit E-body cars" or something...
