Probably throw out bearing, you might want to replace the pilot bearing/bushing in the crank as well while the tranny is out.

It’s likely your throw out bearing touching the plate fingers.
Likely cause of that is a broken retainer clip ear on your fork.

strange sound.....speedo cable or clutch adjustment?
Ok, so this is a weird one. There is a noise coming from my 68 camaro that I cannot isolate. It is a high-pitched "jingling" sound...just loud enough to be annoying. I thought it was my speedo cable, but the sounds stops when I engage the clutch. In fact, it stops when my foot simply touches the clutch pedal with no engagement. I dont know the relationship between the clutch and the speedo at the tranny (or at the speedo itself, which would seem to be more the general area of the noise). Or perhaps there is a something in the clutch mech that makes this noise, and it stops with the slightest pressure.
Also, when I engage the clutch it makes a noise like a haunted house door! It is not coming from inside the car (where the clutch pedal connects), but rather outside....I'm assuming there is a pivot point under there going to the tranny (Muncie 4 spd).
Thanks for the help as always!
