ARE YOU OUTTA YER TEENY MIND? That ladder on a pallet thing looks like something I would do. Talk about dangerous! Wobbly, rickety, shifting under your weight. Been there, done that, and never again! Too unsteady, too dangerous, and it looks like a very long way down to the concrete! Just the pallet alone moves under foot too much on my forklift for my peace of mind.
You are scaring us with that set up.
Yup - "a little goofy" sums it up. Sorry, but we would miss you too much if you keep doing that!

The diagonal boards will be the mounting/supports for the heater.

|Too Many Projects||Most of last week was very pleasant here, for cooler, less humid weather, BUT my wife works full time from home, so I managed to get a few things done in the shop the one day I didn't work for pay. She had Friday off, so we hit the insulation/girt work hard. Nice that the hot/humid weather came back for those 3 days. We were swimming for 8 hours a day in that oven of a shop. We got 28' of both sidewalls done to the point of tin, but that won't happen this year. WAY too much to do yet, to spend time on that. The ceiling tin will be at the store on Wednesday and I need to add 1 more ceiling joist for that and after mocking up the heater, I need to follow the path of the tubes with 2x6 between the joists to hang it on. We picked up the necessary material Saturday evening, so it's here and I just need to get off my butt and go put it up. After the West wall was done, we put the equipment back and I mounted the air hose reel up further, where it should be able to stay now. Also cleaned up the electrical connection for the compressor.|

|idrivejunk||I did a couple of the same things. Mowed, drove rust off backup ride brakes. Noticed that a corner of the gutter which drips into a crack in the driveway next to the porch was still dripping two days after last rain. Knocked a half inch hole there, improvised a trough to redirect it a couple feet then placed rocks under the drip to diffuse and redirect that away from the driveway's edge. Wanted to go slap a tint scrap on the daily driver sunroof but that consumed way too much time so that and the back yard will have to wait. Two scorchers dead ahead. When I touched my door handle to move my car to mow, that reminded me of the sunroof. But I'm beat, and its seven on a work night. To heck with it.|

Mowed the front lawn with the 78 Wheelhorse.
Took the 87v10 for a short drive. Just enough to get the rust off the brakes.
Came back and did the same with the 01 2500HD.
Started mowing the back yard. Caught a deck wheel on a chain link fence. Cut that free then had to stop again to tighten up the wheel.
Heading back out the old girls coil finally gave out. It has been threatening to go out with hard starting when hot and every now I can tell one cylinder is dead for a second or two. I was trying to make it to October(month of no grass or snow) when I am planning to just go through and replace anything old, worn, or done wrong.
But it said screw you today. So a new coil is coming from Amazon for me to throw on next weekend.

Bought an old 1950's commercial sewing machine, and went to work sewing up the upholstery on my '39 Chevy. My first attempt at doing upholstery, and it came out OK I think.

Pardon my not backspacing the following but I figure as many replies as I have done that to this weekend already, I can let it be.
I actually did some automotive research on the web yesterday, went like this-
Price a replacement for my carb. Price doubled since last look. No. Rebuild kit, forty bucks, OK. Watch video with no info I need on it, half hour of life gone. Throttle shaft bushings $3. OK. Tool to install properly is expected price of new carb. No. Will my relative that has my freely loaned same carb but not worn out return it to me after 10-15 years of almost no usage? No.
Alright, about throttle shafts, assuming I can't do a good job without the tool after reading that page on site who sells tool. Pondering openly, I click troubleshooting and do more research. Conclusion: Carb, No. Pretty much Pontiac V8, iron no. Required fuel not available, its 2020.
Thats full circle. I will have to be the one to scrap the car, soon as an engine problem presents itself. And that will be that. That sucks!
Now, on. Only one V8 potentially in my future power, thats the plain early truck LS. Why force it into my car if I will be ashamed of it? Crowd approval, no. Only if legally able to use one with zero computer mods using a weeded harness does this enter my money realm. I call that being cow-ed. Trampled if not in compliance with herd. That goes against my spirit which has always relied on expressing individuality through personal cars. But thats overwith. I lay trampled, spirit included but as yet undead.
Having lost the option of personally using my work stall and tools, that leaves nothing. Combined, these things pull the curtains shut on Grape, and lock me out of the car community due to lack of relevance. No more admission ticket, so to speak.
From where that leaves me mentally, I may as well leave the automotive field. If Grape could scrap me and felt it was time to do so, I'd let her. Stop wearing her out is the best I could do and theres no logic in that. Throwing a rod through the block at a drag strip is how she would rather meet fate. I just don't have the heart. Selling is a cop-out. Theres no solution that I can see.

The dash bezel is installed, and that project is almost done. I still have to do something to the airbag switch since all of the locking tabs are broken off. I did manage to get two screws into the shroud above the gauges, so the major portion of the upper bezel is secure. At least for now. The end above the radio is still a bit out, but I'm not sure how to secure it. It'll just have to ride like that for a while. Still have to troubleshoot the A/C, but that's for another day. Heading out to my uncles place to get an old claw foot tub. I will reglaze it to use in the master bath eventually. Just another project...Attachment 457941Attachment 457943
