Mowed my lawn for the last time this year (I am told, I have no friggin idea) and they tell me they have this thing here called "winter" where some ice falls out of the sky called "snow" that covers the ground!

I don't believe a friggin word of that crap.

We went to San Antonio last February for 2 weeks and came home to 17" of new snow.....and it didn't stop snowing until MAY !!!

That was 290 ft of pushing snow with the grille. I got stopped 10 ft from the shop door and had shovel the rest of the way in to get my plow.

Found an inch of solid ice under the snow too...

Enjoy the frozen rain, Brian...

I'm with ya there...we closed on our former house today and I got a 2 day extension to get all my "stuff" out. I have been working at it for 2 weeks now, 10-12 hours a day. I was over there at 5:45 AM today, picking up my son's damaged '06 Malibu. Then I went to the storage locker with the load I brought home last night, in the dark. After I got that off, I went to the old house and loaded some more until I had to get to the 1pm closing. After the 1pm closing, I went back and filled the 14' trailer, drove to the new place, hooked up to the car trailer and went back and got my '66 Chevelle out of there. That was 6:15. After supper, the wife helped me unload the enclosed trailer so I can get back at it tomorrow. We finished that at 8:15 tonight. I have a 9am appointment with my chiropractor, so I'll be all ship shape....for an hour...until I start loading the trailer again.

cozwurth I got the rails and end caps back on the canoe, so it's ready to go in the stowage under the carport.
I noticed a little bondo on the driver side rocker, and i knew about a little patchwork on the driver side fender. I did a little exploratory grinding with the flap disk to see what I had. Michaelangelo was at it again on the rocker. Looks like it got hit, and one of those screw-in dent pullers was used. Lots of holes, but doesn't look like any rust. That's good. The fender has a riveted in patch. There looks to be enough good metal around it that I should be able to work with that. I think I'm going to section in the front part of the outer rocker panel. The inner seems to be ok from what I can feel, anyway.

1971BB427 I got a couple dozen holes welded up in my firewall this morning. I have no idea what the vast majority of these holes were even for? Can't begin to imagine on some of them? Of course they were the usual PITA to weld and not blow out too. The bigger holes got filler plates welded in, and 1/4" or smaller just got welded.

Then a coat of All Metal over them to finish them off.

After that I sanded down the dashboard and gave it a shot of 2x primer. Then another sanding and a 2nd coat. Some spots have some rust pits, (like the glovebox door) but most of it is pretty nice shape.

Whew. Yep. Was just BSing with boss man and asked how his day was going. He likes that on Mondays or paydays. A square Bronco due to go home next week just got it's second stab at a trans rebuild from a local guy. Won't shift right, C6. Guy wants us to pull it a second time and if you can imagine the transfer case and all, it is a big job. As a retort, I told him I can't raise my arm past here today. He said that makes it tough to wipe, right? Had to shoot him a look. That ship sailed five years ago. Left only.

I already had untreated tendonitis from sanding for a year or two (never a vacation) when the airbag broke the wrist and doctor said it didn't. Hand is working OK as it does but can't raise it or catch myself with it with the current pain episode. The vestigal tendon between middle fingers and shoulder is unhooked at the hand and the hand is crooked on the arm and those are permanent.

Feels like theres a fork in the top of my right shoulder and a pick hammer when I go too high. I hate yelping and having people look. Tired of pain. Gets in the way of clear thinking. Helps to purge the urge and let somebody know though, don't it Tony? A little. Hasn't rotted my mood completely today but the pain makes me kinda nauseous with a snowballing headache.

Pretty day outside though, and this sandwich will do something. Hope you feel better too. I am trying to get better about hiding it.

Superultramegacollosal traffic thru the weekend here too, craft fairs. That has gotten so big they use the convention center near my home now too. I need to crawl in a hole and hide for four days. Nifty.

Become left handed or homeless... hmmm Better just go to lefty practice. (work)

1971BB427 My project today was to get the gauge panel built for my '39. Nowhere near needing it, but I figured it would be a good change of venue today. I had a 1/4 sheet of 1/8" aluminum, so I marked it out to fit the 5 gauges inside the 4" x 12" dash opening. It was a tight squeeze, but made it in the area I had. I found studs on the backside of the dash, so drilled a pair of holes at each end of the panel, and opened up between them so I have a little adjustment to ensure it centers in the opening.

I got a set of white face gauges from Speedway. They had a similar panel, but wanted $130, and I figured I could make one and save a lot. Unfortunately my holesaws are not exactly gauge sizes! I only had to take about 1/16" off each side of the 2" gauge openings. But the speedo needed a 3 3/8" opening, and my kit has a 3" and a 3.5", so had to go 3" and spend an hour with a hand file opening it up to 3 3/8"! I marked the edge of the opening with a black felt marker so I could tell how much and where I was taking metal off. Helped keep it round, and avoid taking too much off.
I'm waiting for turn signal and high beam indicators, and they'll be added to the panel when they're here to double check hole size. Should be a way easier hole to make too!
