Rip VW I have a theory about leaving the stumps tall. I think people ask to leave a good portion of stump and that is so they think they are going to pull the stump themselves later. That later just keeps being Later,Later, later. They are going to put a chain around it and pull it out with their pick me up truck.. I can tell ya from experience them damn stumps ain't coming out that way unless you have a D9 Caterpillar....

Too Many Projects Naw, these were cut by the PO. The trees they hired out are cut at ground level, but none of them were ground down below grade. There are 15 stumps to grind down now, but I need to be patient, as the ground is still very wet and soft. The machine for grinding weighs 2,200# and will tear the yard up right now...

This waiting for something to happen isn't in my dna...

I just cut down 5 large stumps I have been looking at and wanting gone all winter. Much less grinding when I get the stump grinder back too. They were anywhere from 12-20" tall. Why people cut off trees at that height and then just leave the stump is beyond me, but I have been accused of being an overachiever...

123pugsy Hey RIP.

Here's Sikaflex about 15 years old. It sweeps up just fine.
All sorts of oil, gas, etc spills all over.

123pugsy Right on RIP. You could get in there and do anything you like before occupancy. Oh yeah, I forgot. You can't go and get your stuff now....sheesh.....

cozwurth Rip, where there's a will, there's a way. Great news that your builder was willing to go in-cog-burrito for you!

Rip VW Progress on the shop front today. Our town is on super double red secret lock down. Only businesses allowed to operate are grocery and take out restaurants, The local hardware store and any personal friends businesses that are on the Mayors secret guest list. Oh they actually passed a midnight to 5 am curfew also.

I was listening to my police scanner and stumbled onto a covert operation by the local police enforcement to put the strong arm on a couple of construction projects by stopping all trucks and commercial people on their way to the construction area. they would tell them to turn around and not come back till April 8th at the earliest!

What makes me mad is the mayor in her proclamations has said over and over that they won't be looking for violators but if they do see something amiss they will only give a verbal warning but my contractor was given a official cease and desist order right from the city! It will go onto his packet with the city as he is licensed to work in the city limits and they keep a file on all city contractors licensed in the city, if you piss the city off they may ban you from working in the city by suspending your city licenses..

Man this little town is like a Payton Place drama everywhere, This actually might be fun to watch the city vs the local contractors plus all the shut down of everything else. Think I will get me some popcorn and sit on the porch watching all this drama unfold.

But hey, I actually got something done on the shop today. When my contractor called me last night he had good news. He said my garage doors (The 2 10X10 doors) had just come in and he was sending me a plainclothes builder out here first thing this morning and he was going to put my 2 doors in today. Well 8:00 a,m this morning I met him by the gate so we quickly hustled his truck into my driveway and he offloaded and installed my 2 main doors. They look pretty nice and open and close smooth as can be. they close nice also. we managed to maintain a low profile and pulled the door deal off with no one the wiser.

Well I am now only 1 door and an inspector away from getting my "Certificate of Occupancy" My contractor is going to smuggle a man by the first of the week to put the 36" walk in door in and then we will wait till the city says they will start inspections again. So we wait.

idrivejunk Col. Klink is nowhere around, guys! Speak easy.

John... "I put some miles on Precious" is a heavy duty sentence, man.

Chevy time comes right before Pontiac time every afternoon, as a merciful head start.

Hard to follow an act like The Precious One but y'know what? Think I got it whipped right here. Found a handle to fit the nail holes where a strap was, couple of experienced countersunk fasteners, one being phillips and stripped, and... well I don't think there'll be no mistaking who's junk box this is.

Es perfecto! Me don't need no steenking chrome.
