55 Tony That does seem odd unless maybe if everything is brand new, still one of each valves could be off, unless you **** them sideways?


All I know for sure is that they won't work in my BBC!

BigMo Can understand eliminating guide plates, however, there is no way you could set valve lash unless both were the same.....weird, id pass em by....get ones from Jesel, TD Machine, Comp, etc

They are supposed to use the polys to lock it. The rockers are together so that the need for a PR isn't needed. These are for OEM SBC spacing and stud location according to the guy selling. It would seem the Valve Tip and seat heights would have to be dead on to function well. He wanted $110 NIB.

jaw22w I've never seen them before either. My first impression is that they are akin to the roller tipped ball type rockers. Sales gimmick. I could be wrong but I see more negatives than positives.

These require a shim set that is used to space the rockers in pairs to establish roller pattern on the valve stem which in turn dictates the pushrod length. They are very stable compared to stud mount rockers but they are a real PIA to set up. You need to set at least the valves in pairs to the same installed height so the pattern on the stem tip and the pushrod length are the same for a shim set. Certainly better when all the stem heights are the same so everything used the same push rod for the same contact pattern.

There are brands of these things that use an adjustable engagement end for the push rod. But this adds weight so for high end engines are not used due to the weight imposing some RPM losss. But they do simplify the machining requirements on valve stem heights.

BigMo There are no adjustment screw/locks....so these would be for hydraulic lifters?

MouseFink Shaft rocker system is more stable than the arm - ball rocker arm system. For example, In a arm-ball system the rocker arm moves up and down .030” on the stud when taking up lash. A shaft system is stable and eliminates the usual struggle with poly locks, roller rockers, rocker studs, pushrod misalignment, etc. The initial cost of the two systems is about the same. The shaft rocker system was first designed by Dan Jesel.

The shaft system provides best engine performance at high rpm.
