poncho62 Posting a couple of pictures of the frame in the engine area and a shot or two under the truck might help the guys here to judge better.

RWENUTS Another tell-tale on the frame is the post 72 has the brake proportioning valve located on the crossmember below the rad.

75gmck25 If its a 73-87 GM squarebody truck frame it will also have the VIN number stamped in a couple of locations. The most likely is on top of the passenger side frame rail, but its often stamped so far back that its under the cab. Once you find the VIN you should be able to cross-reference to a year and model.

Another option is to look at the GM truck frame reference spec sheets and compare dimensions. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/ has the information you need.

RWENUTS If you want to dig into your motors origin you can find some pics and charts in here to determine that.

And to further the search if you look for a flat pad in front of the passenger side head, the info there will possibly give you a suffix code that is in the list in here.

RWENUTS And the 67-72’s had leafs or coils.
Manual trans frames had a saddle crossmember that the bellhousing bolted to.

Also check rear shock mounts.
Staggered in front and back of rearend on 73 up. Both In front of rearend on 67-72

The 73-87 Trucks didn't use the 8.5" 10-bolt in the rear until either 1981 or 1982 time frame....all of the 1973-1980 still had a 12-bolt Truck rear.

Bought a 1969 c10 it’s on a later model frame is there anyway to find out what year the frame is , last owner didn’t know
