Stripped to the bones:
Rear fenders bobbed, aint found fronts I like yet, no hood, running boards, interior, ( cept seat) single layer flooring, trunk is a box with battery and thats it. Oh yeah front and rear, and port hole glass only. Doors are bare inside. Stock firewall is gone, a single sheet of 16 gage replaced it. No heater, (dont need it) nor wipers. Body has been chopped and filled, sits right on the frame(no blocking)

Heck I didnt even paint it, just primer and sealer.

I can grab the body below the truck lid and pick it up and drag it about my shop. If I yank the flattie I can drag the front around also. 3 of us pick it up now and then, just because we can. (all 3 of us are over 250 lbs)

Nightfire Might as well give you a bit more info then Jimmy Shine is an amazing craftsman, he's like the Midas of hotrodding, everything he touches is garaunteed to turn out amazing!
The truck is a '34 Ford, heres a pic to wet your whistle

That pic was taken at the El Mirage Saltflats.

He builds bikes mostly, old syle choppers, really traditional stuff.

Heres a pic of him and a drop-dead gorgeous bike

Most of his stuff he does for So Cal Speed Shop.

luckydevil thanks for the info.

to be a little more specific, how much do you think something like this weighs with a small block?
08-07-2005 06:01 AM
cboy Depends on if they are roadster, coupe, sedan, fenderless, hoodless, big blocked, small blocked, tranny etc. but most of the ones I've seen on the scales are more in the neighborhood of 2,700. My buddy's 29 coupe is 2,750 (fenderless) and my roadster (fenderless, hoodless, topless) is almost 2,700. BTW, if you pick up the Carrera (coil over shocks) catalog, they have a nice little tech section for estimating the weight of an early 30's car.

rat rod weight???

anyone know the weight of the 29-32 ford pickups and/or coupes?

i've searched and couldn't find anything here or on google.

i know it can vary due to many factors, but i'm just curious if they are as light as i think they are (~2000 lbs). thanks guys.
