tm454 My land is semi-rural. I live in the township. My kids wanted a fire pit, we Can still have open fires in the township, so I dug a pit and lined it with cut off logs for seats. My neighbor bought a movable barn, about the size of a one car garage and sets it 4ft off the property line next to my fire pit. We have some really big fires, lots of trees on my land and lots of limbs to throw in the fire. Her barn starts smoking and I do mean smoking. I hosed down the back of the barn and stopped building up the fire. Next day she's out there looking at the back of her barn, its kind of BROWN and says what am I going to do about it. I said I thought that barn was kind of close to my fire pit but I though she knew what she was doing but I'd suggest she move that barn before it burned down, doesn't seem like a very good place to set it right next to my fire pit. She moved the barn and I still use my fire pit. She had the Sheriff out first and he asked her why she set up her barn right next to my fire pit then she moved her barn.

Skylark_77_455 Yeah we used to have our neigbors call the Sherrif when my dad would fire up his old funny car when I was younger. So one night he finally had it with them and got all of his buddies out thier with their race cars and fired them up. Whew that was loud. A few alcohol funny cars fired up in the peaceful Kansas night sky. My dad said he wanted to knock the pictures off of their walls. They only lived about 600 yards away.

WoodsEdge And that's the reason I live out in the country. I'm far enough away from my neighbors that I don't bother them and they don't bother me. Hotrodit, when you make the move you may have to bring the UK man with you. Just don't leave that roadster or Tracy.

CET Are you sure you don't live on the other side of my butt-head neighbour?

I can sure relate to you. Mine called the cops due to the horrible banging noise outside that lasted for hours at a time. Boy were the cops mad at her when they discovered the source of the horrible noise was me bulding my garage.

I got her back when I rented the tamper. I left it running all day - even when I was not using it.

hotrodit I feel for ya too, i've had that sheet all the time & a divorce thrown in.
I agree if you're moving let 'em suffer make all the noise you can, bo**ox to the old bag.
My roadster is a little noisey & has been known to leave two black lines the length of my street, the Harley & the BSA are both straight through too & have no problem setting car alarms my amusement!
Been in this house for eleven yrs now with no complaints....lucky i guess, so it is possible.

Where in the UK are you, if you were close enough i could supply some support!!

(just remembered the pic to the left is my street, )

4 Jaw Chuck I feel for you Deuce, I used to live in a 3rd floor appartment and I would work in the parking lot in the back much to the chagrin of my numerous neighbours. I heard it all, I even once had one guy threaten me with legal action for working late at night (I guess the sound of clinking tools kept him up). I soon moved the car to a side street only to be hassled by the local police force who told me it is illegal to work on a motor vehilce on a city street for any other reason than to fix it enough to move it.

What am I supposed to do? I eventually rented a little one car garage from a nice little old lady who only charged me $10 a month with a little grass cutting in the summer. She was nearly stone deaf and couldn't hear me working at night and I was much happier.

It can seem that everyone hates you except when it comes time for a little car repair for free, hang in have comrades across the pond who have faced the same discrimination as you.

Continue to fight the good fight Deuce and don't let the mechanically inept bastages get you down. Perhaps a little "Rod run" that starts at your house and ends there will give them a dose of reality, not being able to find a parking spot because the street is full of rods might make them realize who is in charge of your life. Make sure there are a few Harley's in there too, they will think your a "gang" member and not want to rustle any feathers in case they end up at the bottom of the Thames wearing cement neck jewelery.

Hmmm...might just be time to go and "tune" the motorcycle tonight just to let the neighbours know it's spring time. Blowing the carbon out is just what she needs.

Deuce UK
Neighbourhood watch

I was tuning my engine in my garage. Sitting in my car there was a loud BANG, BANG, BANG coming from the back....what the f**k methinks.

Got out the car to find one of my neighbours banging the garage door. When are you going to stop driving me mad!! I've put up with you for Five years ...I've only had the engine running for 10 months... That THING should not be allowed in a resedential area, a garage is for parking a car in not to be used as a workshop!! other neibours are fed up too, she says.

I let her sound off and stayed polite. Told her I was glad she told me that I was annoying her only it's a pity she waited Five years to tell me. I pointed out that my cars are going to be stored on a farm in future from next week. But, I didn't tell her that I was going too cos' I'm getting a divorce.

It still hurts to know that while I'm having fun with the Deuce others around me are upset about it. WHY THEY DIDN'T tell me? Christ, I always talk to my neighbours and they never mention it. I even do the shopping and collect medicine, for the old dear that was sounding off at me, when the weather is bad.

Sorry to rant but I need to get this off my chest!! I feel like I'm leaving this neighbourhood with the divorce and my neighbours will be glad I'm gone too.
