No spark

I have a SBC 400. I discovered I have no spark. I checked the canister coil and I get primary reading of 1.8 ohms; secondary reading if 9,500 ohms. Specs for the Mallory coil for secondary is 10,800 ohms. Is the coil bad?

Make life simpler, disconnect the primary coil wiring. Then take the secondary high voltage wire and position it close to ground so you can see a spark if there is one. Then jumper the + side to 12 volts and jumper the - side to ground for second or two then disconnect it.

The question is; did you get a spark or not? No spark = bad coil, if there is a spark the problem is somewhere else.
