Post Octagonal structural tubing.

Anyone ever work with this stuff? 1 3/4 with a .83" wall. It doesn't look to easy to bend. Really cool shape, but like I said I bet its pretty hard to bend, just looking for personal imput. If its not to incredibly hard to work with I was going to call our supplyer at work and see if I can get a 6' non galvanized peice, but don't want to waist $30 for nothing. Thanks all.

That tubing is the same that's used for surgical torsion and tensor and also for traction. Fill it full of cerrobend or other low temp solder and bend away. It is 6061 AL-T6 I believe and can stand bending only once due to work hardening. 6 X dia. radius bends are the strongest. You can get clamps for them to construct just about anything.
