Hello all, I'm starting my own spray chroming business which involves spraying 2k Urethane and I want to learn how to spray base and top coats. But I want to practice on scrap material first before I attempt spraying my first job. I have a fairly good grasp on prep and I have all of the needed equipment such as a compressor, water and oil seperators, hvlp guns and am going to build a small climate controlled down or side draft spray booth out of a shed. And my questions are: I know I'm going to make a lot of mistakes but I don't waste any expensive paint material if I don't have to. So can water and some rolls of brown paper be used to practice my spray patterns and technique? Or do I need to use the same paint material I plan on spraying? If so, what would be recommended budget wise to use? What is the optimal spray temp for 2k Urethanes Or does it vary by mfgr? Are there any tips or hints to successfully spraying 2k Urethanes? I want to add candy concentrates later on and would like to know what brands and types candies are compatible with 2k Urethanes?
Thanks in advance,
