Thank you all for all of your help. I'm going to use SPI primers then top it with ppg. Now just need to make a decision on the color.

I'm most likely going to go with Presidential Blue but not 100% on that yet. But it will be blue of some type.

My son has some words of wisdom for me when I couldn't decide on a color. I wanted that Camaro senergy green (expensive). he was concerned about it looking dated in a year or two like a lot of the other popular colors that first come out. Then he said black is a classic it never goes out of style and looks good on all cars. you'll never see a black car and say :Hey, that's that Camaro green color on that old car.
The kid makes a lot of sense.

I use the DP as a sealer only. In doing so, a quart goes a long way. If you're going to apply it over bare metal I would suggest using a chromated epoxy, The chromated is far superior in corrosion resistance, than just plain old epoxy. As to being lead free, I think one would be hard pressed to find anything paint related that contains lead anymore.

Save your money use the SPI epoxy as a sealer too. it can be reduced and be an exellent sealer.
