Primer going on
Not exactly what it sounds like. After fixing the rear quarters on the car, I have taken the advice of many here, and one of the painters I am considering for oainting the car. That is, to remove all the 1K high build primer, that the welder put on, removing all the body filler on the quarters down to bare metal and rolling on 2K epoxy primer. This is a lot of work I would not have to do, if I had done the work myself 1st. H3ll I thought, I don't want this paint having to be redone again soon.
So one of the quarter panels is done, next I will do the other.
The next challenge is the roof, which when sandblasted had been given an epoxy primer. The welder sprayed it with 1 K high build spray bomb type paint.
I don't want to warp the roof, and I don't want to take off the epoxy if I don't have to. So a little trial and error. It's going to take a lot of solvent to remove the primer.
Maybe a scuffing pad and solvent will remove it, without taking off the epoxy?
