question concerning engine dyno test

Hello, I don't know if this is a place I can ask this question. If not please tell me where to post this question please.

If I am at the right place please help me.

*have few questions.
1_My*present*situation.
*I'm trying to do an ENGINE DYNO VEHICLE EMISSION TEST.
*The ECM I am going to use is not from the vehicle which will be tested. I have an other ECM just for testing from*the same vehicle model.

*Once the*engine is installed on the dyno bench*for the engine dyno test and check for DTC I*have Crankshaft Position System Variation Not Learned(P0315) & Lost Communication With Body Control Module(U0140).

*When I*try to do the Crankshaft Position System Variation relearn, it won't work.

2_ My*questions.

1) Is there no problem for the test even I*don't do the Crankshaft Position System Variation relearn?
2) I*think that the Crankshaft Position System Variation relearn can't be performed because of the Lost Communication With Body Control Module(U0140) DTC. Is that correct?
3) Is there no problem for the test even if I have*Lost Communication With Body Control Module(U0140) DTC ?

Maybe this will help you sort out the P0315 code. The missing BCM code is another issue.

Thank's.
So you mean the CKP no able to perform the relearn has nothing to do with the Lost Communication With Body Control Module(U0140) DTC?

Chevy is American. Bcm is the body control module. The engine should run without it. But it will not run without signal from crankshaft position sensor. You need to get that sorted out first.
Why is this on a dyno? It is a van motor.
Can you just put it in the van, and go to work? Or is it some special project?

You need all modules hooked up correctly. You need factory programmed ECM. Not something else.
These new cars are very picky about all the modules being able to communicate with each other.

Maybe I missed the information...

What country are you located in?

What emission testing standards that are applied to this vehicle?

No I don't mean anything. I said the article might help you resolve the P0315 code issue.

Sorry, didn't mean to add to the confusion. Forget about euro codes.
Where are you located?

Is this a crate engine you're trying to get working? Or fixing an existing engine/vehicle?

A lot of these contemporary vehicles are using serialized components, switching computers from other vehicles and major parts often leads to misunderstandings that are difficult to sort out away from a dealer shop. Seems to be a plan to freeze out independent shops.
