Discouraging to hear that Quickjack makes it difficult if not impossible to do clutch and transmission work, as that is what I'm planning. I may just go with high-rise jackstands.

I did brake jobs in one shop for years with a Rotary brand scissors lift. This is going back 40 years but they always worked flawlessly. I imagine you could change out and shocks, but access to the center of the car is bad.


I like the Max Jax myself, it would be an idea to pour footings outside since my garage height is not great. Then I'd have to truck the posts outside any time I'd like to use it. Or bite the bullet on a bigger garage....

At one time I had a floor jack that would raise up to 30 inches and with cribbing or tall jackstands worked fine for a long time. Sure would have liked a lift but has no where to put one. Look for one of those.
