No worries Darryl, the proper link for Sunchaser is:

www.sunchasertools.com

Their system works very well, has been around longer, but it is more expensive, and in my opinion more dangerous than others.

Cuz if you did I'm wondering how it handles curved areas and areas close to creases/body lines. I assume you are addressing the shrinking wheel:

Yes , I did. It works SUPER on outside curves. Like the c pillars. (See my project journal)

To oversimplify:
Get your rough shape, as best as you can with a hammer & dolly.
Run the disk over the metal until you see that its getting "warm" (About the temp where the steel turns colors.
Spray the warm area. Feel the shape. Continue as needed. In some cases you will need to re-dolly it, to work the shape.
BE CAREFUL - YOU CAN OVERSHRINK IT !!
You have to pay attention to what you are doing.

You will need access to the metal. This is for the outside of the car. Wray Schelin has a DVD that explains this IN MUCH BETER DETAIL than I could ever. I'm a rookie. Wray is a professional metalshaper.

Wow that seems really cool, there are many times I could have used a tool like that.

BTW I have never looked at your project journal before, NICE work!

I highly recommend you seach out the thread BarryK started about "taking his wife to the movies". He has an ebay link to the video mentioned. I got it and it is very good. Very good money spent, I'll tell you that.

Hi Darryl
If my opinion is worth anything I would say send one disk to Jon to give to
someone to test. Every person that's trying to shoot you down but as soon as
it's been offer for free willing to send envelops it's a shame. If you know you got
something good , don't make it cheap by offering it for grabs.Become a real
buisiness man register international. Let me know when export to S.A. I'll buy
I would just like to know what efect the vibrasion does to your grinder.
Make money good luck.

To any of you guys still checking this discussion (thead) out. I've been out of pocket trying to get out of Ole New Aulens' to get to Birmingham. To date, I have not recieved any self addressed envelopes for the Free Heads to try. If you've sent one, mail here sucks! Never the less. In the next few weeks I will send out TWO TOOLS, for your testing. Please bare with me as things are difficult at best.

Darryl, I did put mine in the mail (in a large manilla envelope) Dec third myself. I am not talking, I gave it to the wife and it is still sitting in her car under the seat , I personally put it in the mail box at the post office. I certainly can understand that the postal service is a screwed up after what you guys have been thru and are still going thru for that matter.

You'll see it soon hopefully. If not, someone will be going out to lunch on the twenty dollar bill that was in there!

I think to only way to give the tool a fair evaluation would be to get a complete set to over to The MiloGarage Show.

We all know the legend of online body and paint workshops would be a end users test all to end all tests. A thumbs up there would indeed be taken seriously

LOL, Barry, I have to tell you, this was a very rare case. I am not usually the guy who would do that, not by a long shot. I still have faith, I think Daryl will come thru.

We do have to understand that when the post office motto "Thru snow, sleet or hail" was written they were not expecting a huricane that would wipe out thousands of square miles! I'll give him the benifit of a doubt.

Hopefully Darrel WILL come through,, after all he did offer to send the wheels out free,, not like it was a scam just to screw someone, things are pretty rough in that area,, and he said he was in the process of moving, Maybe if he comes back and reads this , he'll remember what he was suppose to do, keep the fingers crossed,, apparently no one has received anything,, free or otherwise,, leaves room for suspicion,,, bill

HOLY MOLY!!! SORRY I'M TAKIN SOOOO LONG.
Really! I recieved 6 requests and I PROMISE they will go out this Monday. I have 4 packages together. Please remember. I'm living in a FEMA trailer! My shop is about 75% back together. Also I just recieve an email from the manufacturer that the will be sending the final prototype this Monday and if all is well I should have tools in about a month. Also, I am sending 4 different heads to you guys. NO CHARGE. Please do what I ask in the inclosed letter to give it a fair shake. Remember, I am supplying the 'heads' and you guys need to make the threaded shaft to fit in your die grinders. Just get a bolt to fit the head, cut off the top and insert in your die grinders. I am also including a 'not complete' video to show you some jobs and how it works. The final 'trainning video' is still in the works. I am over whelmed right now so please excuse the absence. I will be better at keeping up with you guys as circumstances allow. Thanks for your patience. Darryl Call me if you have any questions the number is in the package.

Darryl, I can't wait to get those things and put them to work. I have been doing more and more PDR and metal finishing at work and I am thinking of your idea often while doing it. There are a lot more places where there will be room than I first thought. I am really looking forward to it.
