Will do. I probably won't start my chassis until tomorrow, as I have grass to cut today. Hmmmm... Maybe I should start on my chassis today and put grass off until tomorrow. Decisions to ponder.:

I also use the citric acid. cleans up a lot of rusty engine parts. It will etch surfaces if part is left soaking in too long tho. I will try the Speedway stuff.

As I say, I'm happy with the results.

OK. Removed engine and trans today. Got part of chassis set up on sawhorse. Plan tomorrow, is to derust the front end and at least get it primed. We will see.

Progress

This week, I feel I accomplished quite a bit. Derusted the whole chassis and applied two coats of primer, allowing it to dry 24 hours between coats. plan tomorrow is, try to add one coat of chassis black. Will see what happens. By the way, I used a little less than 2-1/2 quarts of the deruster on the project. That included doing the complete chassis, 4 front control arms, 2 rear brake drums, 4 bars, for my rear end and the complete rear axle housing. At $13.99 per quart and some, not much, elbow grease, I had an outlay of $46.00, which included my bag of 20 cheap foam brushes from Wally World.

Keep us posted. What I'm mostly interested in is how well the primer and paint sticks to it during the assembly. Does it scratch right off as soon as a wrench hits it or is it tough? Theres no doubt it gets the rust off pretty well. Thanks.
