I've started working on the tail piece of the driver side fender, using the pieces of sheet metal I'd bent up some months back. I couple were so covered with surface rust that I attacked them with some steel wool. I had not bent the lower fender edge and had to cut some reliefs to get it to bend properly. I used a cardboard cutout of the passenger fender to mirror the curve for the driver side; it matches pretty well. I assembled two pieces and spent the rest of the day trying to hammer out a pronounced dip where I'd welded. After making no progress with a hammer and dolly, a mallet and lead bag and a shrinking disk, I said "leave it for Bondo". I checked the fit and discovered the driver fender is an inch longer than the passenger side, so I'll be cutting out the dip (highlighted with blue tape) and reassembling the tail piece. On another day.
