Yes.
I sprayed my truck some years ago.
It's cheap and very easy to spray.
It had a great satin look.
Looked good 4 years later.
Not bad for a single stage alklyd enamel paint.
Have a peek at my pics you can see the result.

I'm thinking of using sherwin Williams hot rod satin black on my truck. It's actually Barrett Jackson single stage kit. Is that what you used? How does it hold up as far as fading or peeling? My truck is outside all of the time. I'm looking for a satin black finish like black electrical tape. Appreciate your opinion. Thanks Jerry

Here is a price sheet for SPI, the flat black single stage is $154 a gallon and the amount of shine is controlled by the ratio of activator. It can be made from a satin to flat by varying 4:1, 6:1 or 8:1 mixing ratio. Much better product in my opinion than S/W.
Pricing Info

Here are some pictures of others results with different mixing ratios: Camaro is SPI SS black with the center of hood SPI Flat SS

I really liked the sherwin Williams alkylid enamel.
The can be adjusted by thratio of hardener added.
Make a test panel with different ratio of additive .
Then choose the look you like.
It stood up for six years the I sold the truck to someone else who took it to the Toronto Speedorama and won a trophy with it. Latter er he redid it in a peachy pearl colour after some different body mods and took it to the Detroit Autoextreme 2013.
I'd use it again. It's cheap. Great range of shine control. I've painted it on a 59 ford, flat on the bottom and gloss on the roof lime green scallops, dropped on the ground....just love iT ,!!
