Spark plug repair kit

Fellows I need to get a kit for repairing spark plug threads in aluminum heads. Any ideas of which one is cost effective and works well.. This is for installing the heli coil or time sert in the sparkplug hole..

Sam

Spark plug threads

NAPA sells an inexpensive heli coil kit. I used one on a set of VW aluminum heads. Easy to use.

Id go with a time sert over a helicoil in this case. I couldn't tell you the best place to get a kit $ wise. We use timeserts at work to fix blown out 4.6 ford aluminum heads.

I've used similar kits with a thread-locker and they were fine. Most parts stores have them, check somewhere like Summit so you get an idea what to look for locally.
