Something that I recently discovered regarding Jag IRS components, is that if you want really strong lower arms, say for using in a pickup project or if you are putting big HP thru your rear end, then the Jag Mk10 arms are so much heavier and have much more metal in them compared with the standard arms we see everywhere.

They are beefy indeed.

I don't have a pic of one to post but just store that little gem in your memory bank for future reference.

Jag IRS info
We had a great time at Bonneville, saw Vesco go 482 MPH, a lot of new records were set. Had 2 of my sons, one of their friends and 3 of my grandkids out on the salt.

some XKE's had tubular half shafts. One of the Xj6's we parted out had the Small block Chevy converson and had special heavy duty tubular half shafts , most of the Jags irs on pallets we have are the solid steel shafts

Sounds like it was a great trip to the salt.
I only ever seem to be in that area when the gates are closed and out of season.
I figure I'll get there one day.

Yes, the solid half shafts (dog bones) are the ones to have and are quite easily narrowed.
They are generally cut/shortened and have a tube sleeve set over them and welded.
I have had one set done which will be mated to the XJ40 hubs and outboard brakes, but that could be some time off as it is for my next project...

I like doing these small side jobs as a lead up to my next project, by acquiring parts and getting stuff done, so when I actually am ready to start the next project I already have my ducks lined up...

sold a T project
about 35 years ago, I got a crashed Vega V6 that I had repaired twice, after the 3 rd crash the kid had it towed to my place .The kid still owed me $ 300. Said he would probably kill him self, so gave me all the papers on It. I started working on a track t project with one of my boys, but he bought a nash metro. Well one of my boys friends wants to finish it and we will put one of the Jag Irs. for the rear and use a dropped 35 ford front axle.

I have channeled all the roadsters I have built or working on. But I an 6 ft. 175 and the steel 16 bucket body I found in '51 is smaller than the 23's. I have to ride with my foot on the clutch pedal, no other place for a size 12 boot. My glass 32 body doesn't have a firewall or floor and we have started cutting steel to build a custom frame that the body will be channeled on.
One thing about the Jag mounting, we found that you need to just tack weld the upper spring mounts on one side to the rear cross member then install the springs to check alignment before tweeking with a big hammer before final welding.

Jag tie bar.
I copied the CCR prints, laminated them with clear shelf paper then used the optical plasma cutter at the College. the parts were distorted. For the next sets I will use the CCR prints and Measure and make my own cut patterns then cut apart the Jag cross membes to make drill templates.

looking good.
You are making good progress and now you get to trial fit everything, steering gear mount, gas tank and battery location. type of rear radius rods. where to put the master cylinder. On the V 6 bucket, I think we will use an old set of front wishbones. split and for the rear. I found a lengthened front axle down by the river where old farm machinery was kept. The wishbone was spread but I will cut it apart. The scrap iron scroungers offered to haul everything away but That is my iron supply for farm projects.

Great work, but I am curious about the way you have located your headlights a few posts back?
Is this permanent or just for fun now.
If you did keep that set up your lights would work great on turns...
