Is there a "shimmer(y)" paint made?

Strange question, I know. But bear with me.
My Fiance and I are planning our wedding reception, and we want to paint some jars for centerpieces with a light color paint that, in her words, "shimmers".
As she explained it, a 'shimmer' is more color and less sparkly than a 'glitter', which is more sparkly than color.
After a quick search, I'm not seeing any good aerosol options. They few sparkly ones I did find appear to have big issues with only spraying clear, or not stopping spraying once begun.

So, is there something in the world of automotive paint that would be equivalent to what my lovely bride-to-be has described?
I suspect there is, but I don't know the terms to describe it.

Sounds like you want either a Pearl or a Metallic paint? I'm thinking your description sounds like a Pearl coat.

Go to House of Colors web site and look at some of the examples and you might see what you are looking for.

I bet if you get some straight white mixing toner and spray that then put white pearl in some clear binder over that, you'd have a bright shimmering white once its cleared. If you can explain that to the paint store... You could use any white, straight white might be too bright and you'd want like 3 coats of pearl depending on how its mixed. Seriously though, check out a craft store. Seems like they have something I used before.

The thing to find out from her is what gloss level.

Would it be this:

Kameleon Kolors (KF)

That material changes color depending on the vantage point..

https://usa.specialistpaints.com/col...m-aerosol-cans I've used some of their base, pearls, and candies but not in the spray bombs. Quite a few auto paint jobbers can load paints in a spray bomb also. Without really knowing what you're looking for a lot of the special effect paints will require a 3 stage paint process, A colored base, the candy/fx, and a clear, and once you start painting you have time/recoat windows to get all the steps completed within. All automotive paints have tech sheets available that describe their process and the do's and dont's.

Thanks for the suggestions, all.

Since we're just using the jars for the one day, I was hoping to not get caught up in a full fledged paint process. Single stage is an complicated as I am willing to go. With everything we have to get done for the wedding, I don't have time for a whole paint process!

try a few things but try spraying some straight pearl on the inside of the jar. it'll shine and be transparent because its on the inside and the glass acts like a clear. Theres stuff you can get to prep glass for paint but its just one day and the pearl is all you'll need. dont be afraid to apply a second coat of pearl after it drys it'll give a different look also.
