I promised not to let this drag out so here's the answer.

This is a 1910 Austro Daimler. Aluminum panaled and in the aerodynamic style of "Tulpenform" ( tulip form) It was a sport racer of its day. The designer?

Ferdinand Porsche

Ok Boys, not sure if I remember seeing this here before. But what was the very odd use for this material in the auto world?

Seems like some cars had a vinyl top that looked like that in the very late 60's or very early 70's.

Iremember some of those odd vinyl tops on the maverick,,and on a Plymouth sattalite with a Green flowerdy top,,i think it was call mod top,,i worked with a lady that bought one new,

have seen a maverick with a top that looked like an alligator skin
