You can see why the 41 is considered ugly by some.... the car has some nice coup-y curves are that are flowing and in good proportion, but when you look at adjacent shapes from most any angle, you can find something that looks flabby or baggy nearby. The final thing for the rear 3/4 would be a little fender tuck to make the bottom of the rear fenders answer to the new proportions and flowing lines of the curved trunk lip.
This really helps me with a visual I can shoot for since I have work that needs to be done in the area.
No sweat, it was play time. I like the curved one much better too. Straight might be easier but as you pointed out, the body needs all the help it can get with visual flow in that area. Ford probably went with the skull knocker design because the alternatives aren't simple.
Maybe you can manipulate the modified images to suit you more readily as well.
