V8 Beetle on S10 blazer chassis???

Hello everyone
As some of you know I'm building a 350 powered 69 convertible beetle, I know the beetle bodies have been put on s10 frames, but how about a s10 blazer frame??

I've talked to a few people on V8 S10 forums and they mentioned that it might work better to drop the body on a blazer chassis because it has the gas tank in the back already where the trucks have the tank along the side.

Do you guys think that I'd still be able to use the blazer tank in the rear of the frame and get the bug body to fit on it??? Or am I going to have to still move the tank to get it to fit, etc???

Right now I have a chance to buy a complete 88 s10 with a 2.8l v6 for $200, it runs but suposidly needs a little engine work, but I don't care about the engine. I guess the 2.8 is the best s10 for a v8 swap because you just need flat mounting adaptors to bolt onto the stock mount locations and then you can bolt the 350 mounts right to that, and I can make the adaptors at work.

I'm just wondering if I should go for this truck or if would be worth waiting to find a blazer if it would make the beetle swap easier???

Thanks for the help and ideas!!!

bye

i would go with the blazer as it would save a bit of work..One thig to consider is that the manual trans in a 2.8 vehicle is weak and will need to be replaced with a T350..You may need to mod the chassis to get rid of the coke bottle shape that the S-10 has in the cab area..

I actually have a th350 tranny so I got that covered, according to the V8 s10 guys a 350 and 350 tranny will go right into a 2.8 without too much trouble............ But I guess we'll see

Thanks

bye
