Weld-able coating for floorboards

I got my front floorboard steel patch panels for my '64 Corvair last week My question is: What can I coat them with so I can still weld them in while protecting hidden areas from future surface rust? I know there is weldable primer, but is that available in spray cans since I don't have a spray gun and compressor?

Thanks

I'm certain someone here will correct me, but I just finished getting the Floorboards (new Firewall back to Trunk) in my '35 done this weekend. I used SEM Weld-thru Primer for where I was welding (man, it splatters like heck). Anyway, if I were you (and of course I'm not), I would take them to someone who can Epoxy Prime them, have them painted, of course, tape off the areas to be welded before Epoxy, then spray Weld through Primer on the remaining areas and go to town-good luck, grinding all those rosette welds isn't fun (use Flap Discs!)-

FYI, I have heard good things about the 3M Weld Through Primer-

Back when I used lacquer primer I just primered between the seams with that but I doubt that it did much good. The 3M weld through, which is sold in spray cans, works really well just don't spray it on too heavy and it will weld just fine. I also have had good luck with the Dominion Sure Seal brand. I have found that just spraying this on an open surface will not completely prevent rust but when heated, such as would occur between seams while welding, it works quite well at preventing rust.

Weld-able coating for floorboards

Thanks guys! I'll try the 3M stuff. I'm just concerned about areas that will be uncoated such as bare metal against floor braces and areas that will butt right up against other areas that will be impossible to coat once the welding is finished. I know I can seam seal some of the areas, but I just don't want rust to form after all that hard work is completed.
