Awww ... you dog in heat. For a short time I lived near one and thats the most fun I ever had. Did not care I ran mid 15s, I was getting practice. I'll spare you the Miata wisecracks because I know they are a thing with younger males now. You should dust him off with the GS though... if you can.

I'll be danged, thanx button works today. If I sling my devce against a wall I'd have to go dark so, rolling with it. Every five minutes is a brand new five minutes, ain't it?

The Miata is a fun car to drive and seem to be dependable. i had one last year i had replaced top and frame and already had all body work done ready to spray and a man in the shop came on hard times and lost his so i gave him mine so he could get to work, dont know how but his Ex took it last week she went to buy a tag for it and got title in her name, and took it.

You could always holler at some neighborhood kids, hand 'em a stubby wrench and see if they can get to those hinge bolts. One might get lucky!

Firing a Garand taught me more about history than all the period documentaries combined. They are all business but a handsome rifle.

You guys know Foghorn Leghorn is my role model and today is like a guest appearance on Peanuts where theres a scene with that piano kid that Lucy Van Pelt is always hitting on.

LOL! Boy... you're chopping away but theres no chips flying. I'm cutting but you ain't bleeding, son! Enough. Ha.

I grew up with a drag strip, wish it were here for Nick, looking forward to enjoying the one in Idaho. He is enjoying the Miata, that's all that matters. I will be giving the Gran Sport to my oldest son when I move to Idaho.

WTH?

That sucks, yeah, I sat in this thing and it's like a brand new car and felt very cool, it's a neat little car. First import emblem in my drive way, that pisses me off, but I have gotten over it.

Fabrication is a necessary part of being frugal but it doesn't excite me. Most of my friends are the opposite. They want a post car that is as fast as they can make it. I want a convertible or hardtop that is as cool as I can make it.

I think that is because I was raised in the big city and these guys were raised in the country. Street racing was just what they did back when. Me? We were cruising the drive-ins looking for girls. A cool car was what worked.

John

Glad those hot rods and 210 sedans never got in my blood,

I'm hust lucky like that I guess.

I'm piddling with the choke cable fabrication on my Virago, but figured I better get some pics of the Chevelle door before IDJ sends out the hit squad, lol. I put some painters tape along the gap thinking it would show better with the same color on both sides.

Stopping for protein bars and gas, only twice, and a bunch of speeding, made the Google maps time within a minute.

So, in case you're wondering next time you check the time they give you, you gotta drive like me to make it, ha.....

Drove thru 3 traps today, and the cop never moved, phew...

I do the tape thing too. And that looks like a not-too-bad door fit to work with. Can't see the rocker gap but from here it looks par as in golf. You don't want me to send Mitch after you with the pokey smiley so its a good thing you posted those when you did.

Anybody want to go in on a pool for what the date of Marge's first pass will be?

I wish I could give my Dad a cool ride. Mighty cool of you to pass one along.

Yeah, he was going to get it back when he was in high school, here is a photo of it parked in his highschool parking lot, then at his first job, and then at his first (and only) Goodguys event with it. So I told him if I got another letter from his school that he was failing in a class I would take it away from him, I did and I did. Gave him a check for the things he bought for it and that was that.

He took it like a man, he KNEW I was not one of those parents who threaten over and over never coming through, if I said it, I meant it.

He is now 35 with two kids and a wonderful wife and home and job and is a hell of a great guy and productive member of society, he deserves his Gran Sport.

By the way, he lost his first tooth in this car. No kidding, and I mean lost it, I never found it. When I tore the car apart to restore it I took that interior apart like a forensic scientist to find that tooth, nothing. When he was a little guy, his mom and me divorced I would take him in it all over the bay, across the Golden Gate, out to the ocean, all with the top down. We had a ball in it, he has some good memories for sure.

I have wanted to run Marge at the Autocross at the Goodguys but I don't want to wait all day long there to do it. LOL
