I did some tough negotiating. They finally agreed to give me $150 to take it. 🙂

Just a blurb there, not so much a conversation post. Because "it" is having a field day here now. It sucks you can't cast a smile at a looker but is a more-needed relief to see almost everyone using face coverings. Over their noses, too. Unfortunately, I exist in a current hotspot. I just want to wish that your communities keep it down and leave it at that.

Grape sure does fire right up cold, in this warm weather. Humidity in the 30s today, ah!

Yep, sure did. I got one of those tee shirts when the pass side window quit working. Had the door torn down before I realized that the child lock was engaged. Driver side window worked fine. Got another one yesterday with the door panel/dome light switch fiasco in the truck...

"Long post"? pfft!

I honor the arrows at the store. Its really the only place I go. Pumping gas, no mask. Driving around, no. At work, no. At my folks' house, no. Any time I get out of the car to go in a place, yes. I have been fortunate. Couple weeks back, Dad lost his doctor to covid one day then his Sunday school teacher the next, by other causes.

I can't say I didn't take a moment to think, and to think what people in other jobs must be thinking way more than me... before diving in to waller around in somebody else's (with kids) vehicle interior last week. And every time a feller gets a bit dehydrated and feels weak during a hot day, he may wonder whats going on. Is it just the humidity making me pant like a dog?

So just yeah. What you said. Hate to hear that about your Grandmother, David. Dad frequently reminds us that he is aware he has "had a good run". You and Annie take good care of one another, y'hear?

Meanwhile, I'll stack yet another sunset pursuit on Grape's big tall tally now. Talk about good runs, wow we have had 'em. Don't matter if we ever catch it.

Long as we don't catch that. I am very very thankful to have that Nova quarter patch waiting for me and last week's check just waiting until going by the bank is convenient. Very!

DAMN, you people losing friends and colleagues to this crap is sad and scary. My thoughts are with you and please stay careful.
We only know of 1 family that got it. It is a co-worker of my wife's but they were on home stay and got it from their other family members.

My wife has been working from home for almost 4 months now and is dreading EVER having to go back to commuting for work.

We removed our bent up, groaning garage door on the house today and put up the new one. WHAT a world of difference, not just in how nice and quiet it runs, but the appearance. The old door was Green Bay Packer Green and the new one is Ivory, to match all the soffits and fascia on the house. No pic because we discovered the glass in the new door is single pane with a cheap plastic outline of "prairie" windows. I am in the process of transferring the double paned glass, with the pattern etched into the outer pane, from the old door over into the new. Looks kind of weird right now, so pic when done...

Wife has a tooth bothering her. Dentist told her that she has to go get a COVID check/test before he will let her into the office, so today we took her for the test. We will know in a day or two if she has been exposed, and if not, then she can get to dentist before the week is out.

Meanwhile, I had volunteered for a testing regime where they check for COVID antibodies. (If you have been exposed or if you were asymptomatic)

That will happen this week, too.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no. All of that crapola passes through that box. I'd love to be able to twist a few wires together and bypass that stupid box, but I'm pretty sure that ain't gonna happen either. In reference to one of your previous posts about ditching it all, I'd love to. But, this is my brides vehicle, and I want her to be as safe as she can be. Being able to unlock the doors before she gets to the vehicle or lock them all with one button is a safety thing for me. Too many nut-cases out there. We don't live in a particularly dangerous area, but anything can happen anywhere.

On yet another note, the Z left my daughter stranded at her friends house last night. Electrically dead. More joy and happiness to follow...

I have wanted to ditch the auto down window function and go manual locks forever. I did go fob free though. Dome light could work like an old car, for me.

But! I was not able to chunk the "MALL module" which is the factory alarm. I completely understand about chick / family cars having to work as expected though. That was me letting my minimalist rant for a moment. I don't understand fancy things. People really trip out on no passenger seat, like thats too wild. I don't see any sense leaving it in, it rattles.

Hope you don't have to hike to Oz with the freaks you meet along the way... to find a "brain" box.

Oz? Nope. Ebay, with a 60 day warranty. Best I could find.

Wait... Oz... Brain box... I get it now. DUH! Sometimes I amaze myself. Any-who, daughter and her fiance took the battery to the store and had it tested. They walked out with a new battery and all is as well as can be in the Z-28 world again. And I didn't even get my hands dirty. However, I will be inspecting the work when I get home.

Huh, that's the excuse she came up with to stay overnight ...

You'll be inspecting to see if it's even a new battery...

Man... can't even let me have one small win, lol! She had already planned to stay over at her friends place.

I got the brain (dead) box out of the van. Now I just have to wait for the replacement. I opened this one up and took a look inside. Nothing obvious, but I really don't have a good magnifying glass to look at the solder joints. Some look a little darker than others.Click image for larger version
