What oil should I use for 00' Pontiac sunfire

I know this forum is mostly for older vehicles but I know some of you might know the answer. I recently bought a used 2000 Pontiac Sunfire GT convertable due to my 92 s10 being totaled. The car has 155k miles and is pretty clean inside, outside, and under the hood. Would going with a synthetic oil help this motor last longer? I use this oil HPS - High Performance Street Motor Oil | Royal Purple for my 86 gmc k2500 that has a stock crate 350. This stuff is supposed to be very slick compared to normal synthetic oil. I'm just afraid it will loosen hidden deposits and cause more headaches down the line.

I have used Valvoline MaxLife 10-30 in 1999 Grand Prixs for around 100,000 miles with no troubles from it.

I'd leave the Royal Purple alone for your application. It's much more important to keep it full and treat it to 2500-3000 mile oil changes since you don't know the history of the vehicle.

I've also used the oil that idrivejunk referenced with no issues.
