Zip ties work great for this. When the coils touch the zip ties get smashed or break off. Easy to see and they stay where you put them.

Changed to the stiffer springs yesterday. Looks much more "correct".
Clearance between each coil before mounting was 0,6" ( 15 mm)
Mounted on car and adjusted for correct suspension geometry the clearance is 0,35" (9 mm)

Since these need much less compressing to achieve correct suspension geometry, the car has app 30% more spring length before coil bind, than earlier.
