wheel stud replacement

When replacing wheel studs in an aluminum hub should the knurled end be larger than the ones being replaced?

I don't know about larger, that doesn't sound good to me.

Big "it depends".

The knurled part can only bite into the thing so many times before you need to go larger to still have bite.

No assuming the ones that came out were tight and there wasn't any corrosion taking place. if its a concern you could use locktight.
