Where to buy carbon fiber parts/Dodge Challenger

Hello HotRodders!

Was looking for a good, reliable online resource for carbon fiber parts (for a Dodge Challenger), that don't cost an arm and a leg. I've run across a few websites that sell various parts but there is either missing information (how much does it actually weigh?) or incomplete body kits, etc.....
Thanks!

Well there's a problem. You put carbon fiber and low cost in the same sentence and it just doesn't work that way. I know more than a few of the 'glass part makers have moved into the carbon fiber world but your going to pay for it. Sorry I don't have any specific sources for you. I mean a thousand bucks for a basic hood is on the low side. As to weight, call them and they can give you at least a shipping weight - the cardboard box is only going to weigh but so much.

What year Challenger??

Makes a big difference in availability whether it is a vintage muscle or a new retro model.

Carbon fiber is one of the last. LAST. Things you do for reduction.

Your talking around 20lbs per fender and around 30lbs for the hood in general. So yes a nice 70ish pounds off the front. Nose and bumper can reduce around another 70lbs. But there are so many other areas to tackle before you put a "sensitive" carbon front clip on the thing.

It depends on your application. I would never run carbon on the street. I will cut the heck out of some steel fender and hood supports to loose weight well before going carbon. Even pulling out steel and replacing it with aluminum in some areas.

There is a long list of items to tackle before playing with replacing body panels. Weight reduction is done by the ounce not by the pound. If you want to loose and better redistribute weight look at the things where your weight really hurts you. Battery, suspension, heavy items attached to the frame that can be changed, ac, steering shaft, exhaust, anything chrome, etc. Just to name a few.
